Here’s how you can get into freelancing and start earning BIG in USD in time.

#1 Learn a skill: in order to become a freelancer, you need to learn a skill, not just any digital skill tho but High paying skills.

A few examples off the top of my head are copywriting, UI/UX design, social media marketing/management, Funnel designs, Digital marketing, etc

After learning a skill the next thing you want to do is start selling that skill. You can do this on platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, guru.com, etc (these are small ponds so competition is high)

Or you can do this by searching for clients on LinkedIn, Facebook cold emails (unlimited pool and plenty of big fish)

I will explain why I call freelance platforms small ponds tomorrow.

The reason i call freelance platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, guru.com, etc small ponds is that they are known as where clients are so everyone is there.

Since everyone is there competition is high and you have to struggle to stand out.

This leads to a battle for small chops as freelancer reduces their rates and what this ultimately ends up as is you earning small amounts of money.

Upwork is a bit in-between in terms of pay but the competition is still fierce.

However, using channels like Linkedin and Facebook to get Foreign clients will have you earning more and since the pool is a big one (unlimited pool because new people keep starting businesses) you can find a lot of big fishes AKA DEEP POCKETS CLIENTS who will pay you thousands of dollars for your service. 

Again it doesn't matter if you are a Nigerian so long as you have value and position yourself well you will soar.

Do I need a website to become a freelancer?

No, you do not, however, having one to upload your portfolio helps you stand out and you can easily do that on google docs, google sites or brizy.net   use their free web pages to upload your portfolio and stand out.

There is a fast way to earn money and a slow way to do so.

In the older days what we were thought was to go to school find a job and earn.
